Jeremy Rodgers is a values-driven innovator and leader. He has over 18 years experience working for a top technology company, is an Officer in the United States Navy Reserve, a proud husband and father of 4, and serves as Deputy Mayor to the beautiful city of Boca Raton.
Jeremy is the son of Kathy Rodgers, and the late Master Sergeant (RET) Robert Rodgers, a career U.S. Army soldier. Jeremy was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved around wherever the Army sent his Dad, mostly in the New York and St Louis areas. Jeremy was always more of a scholar than an athlete, but he did manage to letter in Swimming, Volleyball, and Wrestling at the Varsity level. He graduated from Bayside High School, in Queens, New York.
Jeremy moved to South Florida in 1997 to attend Florida Atlantic University, where he received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Engineering, with a Minor in Business. He did this while working full-time for IBM, where he is still employed today. Jeremy has worked in IBM Software Group, IBM Learning and IBM CIOLab (Security Innovations) under the IBM Office of the CIO/CISO, where he lead technical teams to focus on next generation Computer Security challenges. Jeremy has since taken on a leadership role with IBM i2, where he has served in a sales engineer and client success leadership role in the worldwide, federal, and North American regions. He currently leads an expert team of architects, analysts, and rainmakers to help government and corporate organizations find bad guys across all domains, from terrorists to cyber hackers. Jeremy has been published academically in an IEEE journal (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) for his work in Computer Security and Data Visualization and has several patents filed through IBM.
Jeremy Rodgers was selected to be an officer in the U. S. Navy Reserve in 2010 and is an active Cryptological Warfare Officer in the Reserve component. He has attended Direct Commission Officers Indoctrination Course at United States Navy Officer Training Command (Newport, Rhode Island) as well as Information Warfare Basic Course at Corry Station Naval Technical Training Center (Pensacola, FL). He has served as a Department Head and the Command Fitness Leader for Naval Reserve Navy Information Operation Command Georgia-Orlando (Orlando, FL), a Cyber Division Officer for JIOC South 0174 at United States Southern Command, and currently serves at United States Cyber Command. Jeremy has qualified at the highest level, Expert, in both Pistol and Rifle.
Jeremy’s wife, Mandy (Toms) Rodgers, graduated from Westminster Academy and the University of Florida with her Bachelor’s in Finance before receiving her Master’s in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2002. They were married in 2005 and have since been joined by their nine year-old son Connor, seven year-old daughter Ainsley, five year-old son Hunter and their one year-old son Flynn; Flynn is the first baby born ‘in city hall’ to a sitting council member in over 20 years. The Rodgers family attends Spanish River Church where they are actively involved. Jeremy has coached and volunteered at Florida Atlantic University engineering events, Upward Basketball, Florida Volleyball, at FAU as the Chapter Advisor to a Greek organization, and with the Boca Raton NJROTC program as a mentor/judge and a CPO (Cadet Parent Organization) member.
Jeremy Rodgers was elected to his first term on City Council of Boca Raton in March of 2015 as the residents’ voice, despite massive opposition from special interest groups. It has been one of his highest honors to serve the city of Boca Raton. Jeremy leads with a passion for technology, innovation, resident and civic involvement, and job creation. Being naturally competitive, he will not rest until Boca Raton truly is the best place for everyone, whether that’s to retire, raise a family, start a business, or get an education. In addition to serving as Deputy Mayor, Jeremy also serves the city as an alternate to the PBC Metropolitan Planning Organization, a sitting member on the National League of Cities Information and Technology Committee, and previously as the Community Redevelopment Agency Vice-Chair. Before being elected, Jeremy served along fellow residents on the Financial Advisory Board and in the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce on the Government Affairs and Economic Development committees.
